Pasifika Futures Board member La’auli Michael Jones has been awarded the Queen’s Birthday Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours and Debbie Sorensen, Pasifika Futures CEO passed on a congratulatory message.
“We are very proud of La’auli being recognised in this year’s Queens Honours list.”
“La’auli is a strong advocate for Pacific families and for economic and social development for Pacific families, and especially the young people in New Zealand.”
Mrs Sorensen says La’auli is an outstanding individual, humble with a caring heart. He has worked for many years serving the needs of our Pacific communities and has made a significant contribution in working with young people. La’auli’s knighthood companion is well deserved.
“We are fond of La’auli’s commitment and continuous dedication to helping our Pacific families and young people in our communities and we have been privileged and fortunate to work with him over the years in his capacity as a Director on the Board of Pasifika Futures, the Pacific Commissioning Agency for Whānau Ora.”
“Pasifika Futures is very proud of La’auli’s achievement and it is wonderful to see his efforts recognised and we congratulate him and his family,” says Mrs Sorensen.
La’auli’s time and energy is spent largely on Pacific youth and community empowerment programs, charity and community work. He has earned his knighthood in this year’s Queen’s Birthday honours for his contribution to helping Pacific kids in New Zealand complete their education and achieve their goals.
Pasifika Futures would also like to acknowledge Hamish Crooks and other prominent Pacific Islanders who have been recognised in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours.
Sir Michael joins all Pasifika Futures Board members who have been recognised for their services to Pacific communities.
