The Pasifika Futures Ltd in partnership with Pacific Perspectives Ltd presents the 2nd Annual National Conference on Pacific Whānau Ora and Health Workforce on 25 and 26 November 2015 at the James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor, Wellington.
This joint conference will have a particular focus on co-production and how it occurs in the context of system change, particularly with the refresh of the New Zealand Health Strategy and government’s commitment to funding for outcomes. The drivers of system change include rapid demographic change with population aging and increasing diversity and the challenge of sustainability. ‘Co-production’ of public services is a response to these changes that is being adopted in New Zealand and internationally. The key components of co-production are reciprocity between providers and consumers, including the expertise of consumers in service design and delivery.
The Pacific Whānau Ora conference will highlight the experiences so far with the new commissioning model and to share lessons learnt from the first year of Whānau Ora commissioning.
