Prestigious appointment for Dr Aiono Alec Ekeroma

Congratulations are in due order for Dr Aiono Alec Ekeroma who continues to go from strength to strength as one of our Pacific leaders, most recently being appointed by The University of Auckland as Associate Professor in Clinical Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

This prestigious award and appointment comes after completing his PhD last year.

With the news of his new appointment, Dr Ekeroma humbly thanks everyone for their encouraging words.

“I am hoping this achievement will continue my service to our communities at a different level.”

An advocate for improving the health and lives of families in the Pacific community, Dr Aiono Alec Ekeroma also comments “I am passionate about the various initiatives that grow and support our health workforce and researchers from secondary schools across to tertiary institutions as they find their feet in the workplace and in our communities.”

The appointment reflects Dr Aiono Alec Ekeroma’s passion and commitment to health and working with Pacific communities, particularly serving as a mentor and inspiration to the next generation of Pacific health leaders.
