Pasifika Futures is delighted with the additional funding recently announced by the government in the Budget 2016 to further support Whānau Ora work.
“We are pleased about the budget announcement of more funding into Whānau Ora programme,” says Pasifika Futures Chairman, Dr Kiki Maoate.
“The announcement has enabled us to continue our work to find new and innovative ways to provide services and support for vulnerable families.”
Pasifika Futures Chief Executive Mrs Debbie Sorensen says Pasifika Futures will extend the existing depth and breadth of its work to service more families who are in great need.
Pasifika Futures will continue to work closely with regionally based providers and partners to build the capability and capacity of Pacific families and supports these families to achieve their aspirations in health, housing, education, training and economic development.
Pasifika Futures was first funded in 2014, on a three-year budget totalling $30 million.
To date, Pasifika Futures have contracted with 32 organisations to work with 4,000 Pacific families across New Zealand.
