Students contributed canned food to PFL partner South Waikato Pacific Islands Community Services (SWPICS), supporting local families in need. PFL Chair Dr Kiki Maoate expressed his delight at the visit, urging students to pursue their passions with dedication.
“You can be anything you want to be,” he said. “Tokoroa produces exceptional talents—doctors, nurses, sports stars. Whatever you set your mind to, give it 100 per cent.
The visit also included a talanoa later in the evening with the Pacific community, focusing on PFL’s five domains and their impact. In honour of Cook Islands Language Week, Dr Maoate emphasised the importance of preserving the Cook Islands Maori language.
