PFL Partner Series: Dressed in Confidence
Updates / Community , 10 Oct 23
Nora Swann, creative entrepreneur and fashion enthusiast, founded community-based wellness programme Dressed in Confidence, in 2016. Her vision was to advocate for Pacific representation across all sectors, and help facilitate the connection between confidence and mental wellbeing.

“Dressed in Confidence helps individuals to feel comfortable in their skin, boost their self-confidence as well as assisting them to find out what their superpowers are!”

Dressed in Confidence delivers a range of programmes to youth, individuals affected by COVID-19 and unemployment, and anyone interested in self-development and growth, assisting over 900 people thus far.

The programme is centred around building confidence and self-value, with sessions about wellbeing, nutrition and fitness, personal styling, fashion experience, arts and creation, hair and makeup and employment readiness.

“We are proudly by, and for, Pacific. We are the only provider of this service nationwide.

“We are big on making genuine connections, open talanoa and we love seeing our people succeed!”

Swann has a strong background in the fashion industry, and lists founding the Pacific Fusion Fashion show as an accolade. She is equally passionate about creating meaningful impact in people's lives through community work, and shares with us the motivating drive behind Dressed in Confidence.

“As a creative entrepreneur in the fashion and social service sectors, I wanted to somehow give back to my community and pass on the knowledge I had learnt from the fashion industry, so I thought the best way was to teach self-love with fashion as the medium.”

Pasifika Futures Limited (PFL) is proud to work in partnership with Dressed in Confidence, with the hopes of transforming lives and enhancing prosperity for Pacific communities.

Swann shares the value of the partnership with PFL.

“I’m very grateful to have had the support from Pasifika Futures over the past few years. They have supported the Pacific Fusion Fashion Show because they believe in the talents of Pacific creatives, and over the past year have funded our Dressed in Confidence programmes which have focused on capacity-building for the Pacific fashion community.”

Swann is getting ready to deliver the annual Pacific Fusion Fashion Show, which is set to take place on 1 December 2023 at the New Zealand Warbirds Association. Tickets are on sale now.
