This week is Men’s Health Week – why do you think it’s important to talk about men’s health?
This week is Men's Health Week, an important reminder that we all need to prioritize our health and well-being. For men, talking about health issues can sometimes be challenging, but it's crucial for catching problems early and living our best lives.
Why is health and well-being important to you?
Health and well-being are important to me for a few reasons. First, my health allows me to do the things I enjoy - whether that's spending time with family and friends or pursuing my hobbies. Second, staying healthy helps me feel energized, motivated, and able to handle life's challenges. And third, my health impacts the people around me. If I'm not well, it affects my family, coworkers, and community.
What do you do to keep yourself healthy?
To keep myself healthy, I focus on a few key areas. I ensure to consume nutritious food that provides energy for both my well-being. Additionally, I engage in physical activities such as walking to remain active and cope with stress.
What’s your favourite physical wellness activity?
I try to exercise regularly, even if it's just going for walks a few times a week. Staying active helps manage stress and improves my sleep. Finally, I prioritize self-care and rest. I take time for hobbies that bring me joy, make time for checkups and screening tests, and recharge by getting enough sleep.
What’s your go-to meal?
I aim for a balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables and limit junk food. Eating well fuels my body and mind.
What’s one wellness tip or piece of advice you can share to encourage others this week?
Overall, health and well-being are about more than just the absence of illness - they're about optimizing all aspects of our lives so we can thrive and truly live well each day. Men's Health Week is a good reminder of that.
