Updates / Community , 25 Jun 24
Pasifika Futures (PFL) kicked off its roadshow in the South Island, hosting an evening of talanoa and connection for Pacific families in Invercargill, providing a platform to express their hopes and aspirations for the local Pacific community.

PFL CEO, Debbie Sorensen, warmly welcomed attendees and emphasised that the gathering was an open space to discuss their visions for a thriving community.

The evening saw a range of topics brought forward, including health and education, creating pathways for employment, offering youth opportunities through sports, and enhancing language and cultural connections to strengthen cultural identity.

PFL Chair, Dr Kiki Maoate ONZM FRACS, concluded the night with closing remarks, underscoring the importance of listening to our children and addressing challenges in our communities with diligence and care.

The team's next stop is Dunedin on Tuesday June 25th; we look forward to fostering meaningful conversations that will empower Pacific communities to share their priorities and aspirations for themselves and their families.
