The Pasifika Futures roadshow resumed in Wellington, marking the start of our talanoa sessions in the North Island. The event saw a significant turnout, with meaningful and purposeful discussions throughout the evening.

Attendees emphasised the importance of financial stability and literacy, and opportunities to equip families with the knowledge to better manage their finances. Families expressed a strong desire to become debt-free within the next decade as well as support in addressing health issues affecting Pacific communities.

Youth participants shared their hopes and aspirations, emphasising the need for parental support in their educational decisions.

Pasifika Medical Association Board Director, Dr Lupe Taumoepeau, closed the evening, acknowledging families’ for their presence and courage to openly share about their hopes and aspirations.

The team's next stop is in Hamilton on Wednesday 10 July. Keep up to date by following us on Facebook @ Pasifika Futures or Instagram @pasifikafutures.
